Movember is (nearly) over…

Movember is officially over, but I’ve got to keep my Mo for a couple more days. Some people have promised donations as long as this thing is still on my face on Monday at UKOUG 2012.

It started off as fun, but now it’s a bit of an itchy nightmare. I can’t wait for Monday evening so I can see the back of it!

Thanks to everyone who donated some cash. I’m sure the relevant charities will very much appreciate your contributions!

I’ll report the final total once I know what it is, and I’ve added my donation to it.

Cheers

Movember Update…

We’ve hit the half way point in Movember and I now have a visible Mo!

It’s not quite as impressive as the one I faked with hair from my head, but it’s getting there.

Movember Fakery

Tomorrow will be day 7 of Movember and so far my facial hair is not as noticeable as I would like. You can see my progress, or lack of, on my Movember page.

So tonight, I was cutting my hair and decided a bit of Movember fakery was in order. I took some of the hair that came off my head and arranged it on my face. It was pretty gross as it kept going up my nose as I was breathing. :)

Movember 2012: The ‘stache returns!

In 2011, I joined many others in the Movember event for the first time. This is a fund-raising effort where participants grow a mustache for the month of November and collect donations to support men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancers. Individuals can participate on their own or as a team, but no matter what you donate, it all goes to the same place. In my first year, I managed to collect $754 from 15 donors! Hopefully, I’ll exceed my previous year’s fundraising this year…just not sure what mustache style will bring in the most money yet?!

To see photo updates of how my ‘stache is coming along and to make donations, go to my page on Movember. Thanks for any donation you can make!

Movember at ORACLE-BASE.com…

Movember is coming to ORACLE-BASE.com…

You will be able to track my progress here: http://mobro.co/timseanhall

If you can afford to make a donation, no matter how small, it would be much appreciated!

I’ll try and post a photo each day for the whole month, so you can see how bad I am at growing facial hair. :)

Cheers

PS. I feel really nervous now. It’s suddenly become very real!

UKOUG 2011 Conference OakTable Sunday by Alex Gorbachev

This blog post covers day 0 of UKOUG 2011 — Sunday, 4th of December, 2011. Since there were so many of us from Pythian at the conference, I’m adding my name in the blog post title. I think I will be doing it for all conference posts as I think I’ve been doing for some [...]
